Stop and really look at this moment in the life of Jesus. What strikes you? What speaks to your heart? What do you think Jesus is feeling? What does it tell you about how much he loves you? Spend some time in prayer and listen to what Jesus is inviting you into.
4th Station: Jesus Meets His Mother We Adore you, Oh Christ, and we praise You, because by Your holy cross You have redeemed the world.
Meditation offered by Deacon Brother Charles OFM: Jesus and his Mother Mary met in this Station of the Cross. He was exposed with blood and sweat. His life was subjected to the angry shouts of those who hated him. His mother was exposed to all that was harmful and hateful. This encounter pierced her heart in a terrible way. Moved by parental love and care she comforted her Son with her presence. When we see our brothers and sisters suffering, let us comfort them as Mary comforted her Son, Jesus. Amen.
Journal Questions:
Think of your own family, can you imagine walking along with them as they faced this terrible agony? How can you help family members in distress or facing difficult life circumstances?
How can I be a better mother or father, sister or brother?
How can I comfort and care for my brothers and sisters?
